Anuramortis: Panoramas

For the Anuramortis game project, we wanted to create several interactive panoramas. Other members of my group took the source photographs and created the sketches and linework before passing them on to me, and I colored them, added texturing, placed the interactive pieces and generally knit the whole thing together. These are the final result.

The Underground

The UG is dark and damp. Water pipes have burst and flooded the lower portion. The pool tables are on their sides or have broken legs, and most of the TVs have fallen off their pipes. The hot tub is a kind of spiderfrog spawning ground and is full of clouds of eggs.

The item the player needs here is the deadly frogspawn.

The deadly frogspawn is located in the hot tub area and is protected by a single massive frogspider. There is an old plastic cup nearby which they can use to scoop up the spawn. The frogspider can be moved by fixing the TV (requiring tools from other rooms? portable generator?) behind the tub and turning it on; it will become frightened and jump away.

The guardian frogspider is as large as a cantaloupe and has horny protrusions on its head. It is aggressive but will not leave the spawning pool.

On his first tour of duty in Afghanistan, Sam Brown was set on fire by an improvised explosive device. He survived, only to find himself, like thousands of other vets, doomed to a post-traumatic life of unbearable pain. Even hallucinogen-grade drugs offered little relief, and little hope.

A little bit down the road we saw this really tall guy standing in the middle of the street, just completely still. For whatever reason, this really set off Rocky, and, um, he got really scared — he wouldn’t move and he kept on pulling on his leash to go back home. There was something about this guy that was just… it was strange.
